VR GOLF
Golf is the 3rd most popular participation sport in the UK, with over 5 million players (7% of the population). The fastest growing sectors are formats away from the golf course, with 80% of younger golfers now engaging with the sport through driving ranges, simulators and VR games. For keen golfers, there’s nothing quite like being out on the course in the British countryside.
But that’s fine when the weather’s nice, and there’s 4-5 hours to spare. By bringing golf indoors, we can escape the elements, and enjoy fun formats as part of a wider event. What’s more, with virtual golf, we can play bucket list courses previously only dreamed of. Simulators have traditionally been the go-to for indoor golf… but they need plenty of space, lots of equipment, and are pretty noisy. That’s where VR comes into its own… less space, equipment, noise, and a more immersive and inclusive experience.
Unreal is thrilled to have partnered with GOLF+ in 2025 (initially through sister brand Tee Shot Golf), the official VR partner of the PGA Tour, with almost 2 million players taking on an ever-expanding collection of iconic courses. These include St Andrews, Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass, Bethpage Black and many more. Difficulty levels can be set from novice to pro… serious golfers can even pour over shot data and swing analysis. Not convinced it’s realistic? Check out our blog post on the topic, and see how Team Europe used exact same setup Unreal uses to prepare for Ryder Cup glory.
With Unreal experiences, players swing special weighted clubs, either as a small group or as a solo challenge like Nearest the Pin, in a golf-themed environment, including a 2.5m square golf backdrop and host(s) in golf uniforms. Spectators can watch every shot live, on a large TV screen!
JUST RELEASED: VR Mini Golf! Play multiplayer games of crazy golf on the new putting course!
“Following the success of our collaboration with Tee Shot Golf, GOLF+ is delighted to extend our partnership to sister brand Unreal Events. This will only provide greater opportunities still, for people across Europe - regardless of real life golfing experience - to explore the world of VR golf for the very first time.”

For comfort and safety, we recommend a minimum of 2m x 2m of floorspace. Standard height ceilings (c2.5m / 8’) are fine for most sports, even golf. For tennis, we recommend 3m if possible. For more than one headset being used concurrently, we’ll of course need more a bit more space, depending on the game / format.
Otherwise, VR works best in a well lit room, avoiding bright direct sunlight if possible, and not too warm.

Absolutely! Our standard backdrop is 2.4m x 2.4m and can be customised to any design you wish - just supply us with a high resolution, square image, and we’ll do the rest! We charge £200+VAT for printing, and the banner (fits frame with top and bottom pole) is yours to keep after the event.

We have a range of gameplay formats to suit a variety of audiences. For busy events, we suggest Nearest the Pin, taking around 2 minutes per player. Need to entertain more than 30 people an hour? Just add a second or third setup, and double or triple the throughput to 60-90 per hour.

Are you in mainland Britain? If so, yes! We’ve covered many events, from the depths of Scotland to the Kent coast, and are happy to travel to wherever your event is located. In Ireland, mainland Europe or further afield? Please enquire, and if we can make it work, we’d love to see your part of the world.

Historically, this was common. However, in addition to technological advancements (i.e. lower latency). we’ve taken several steps to minimise if not irradicate the risk of this occurring. These include providing a tactile floor surface, specifying games with teleport and ‘snap turn’ options, and running short game formats. Please contact us to discuss any remaining concerns. We’ve yet to have a single complaint of motion sickness at any events.

Yes absolutely. Unreal Events provides a widescreen TV for each headset in use, so that spectators are engaged in the experience. We can also often utilise screens that are in-situ, in addition or instead of our TVs. The process of sharing the VR images in near real-time can be complex. We have six methods to do so, including carrying a mobile router as contingency for Wi-Fi issues.
