VR CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING
Clay pigeon shooting, or clay target shooting, started around 140 years ago, and has seen a surge in popularity in recent years, with around 150,000 estimated to shoot in the UK regularly. It’s easy to see why, as an exciting test of skill, a social activity and stress reliever.
But what if you could play indoors, with the essence of what makes it fun, but without the recoil, noise or British weather? That’s the virtual reality clay pigeon proposition, and it requires so little space, it’s ideal for drawing in visitors to exhibition stands, conference breakouts, company wellbeing days and much more.
We’re delighted to have secured a partnership with Clay Hunt VR, the most popular game of it’s sport (4.8 out of 5 stars, across over 500 ratings), that receives rave reviews from gamers and real-world competitive clay pigeon shooters alike.
In our experiences, players use special premium shotgun accessories, either in pairs or as a solo challenge, in a shooting-themed environment, including a 2.5m square backdrop and host(s) in themed uniforms. Spectators are able to watch every shot, on a large screen TV!
“Our mission is to make consistent training and the thrill of shotgun sports accessible to more people, without compromising the realism and discipline that make them unique. Clay Hunt VR is trusted even by top shooters as a training tool and has built a global community of enthusiasts. We’re excited to partner with Unreal Events to create new opportunities for people to step into the world of virtual shotgunning.”

For comfort and safety, we recommend a minimum of 2m x 2m of floorspace. Standard height ceilings (c2.5m / 8’) are fine for most sports, even golf. For tennis, we recommend 3m if possible. For more than one headset being used concurrently, we’ll of course need more a bit more space, depending on the game / format.
Otherwise, VR works best in a well lit room, avoiding bright direct sunlight if possible, and not too warm.

Absolutely! Our standard backdrop is 2.4m x 2.4m and can be customised to any design you wish - just supply us with a high resolution, square image, and we’ll do the rest! We charge £200+VAT for printing, and the banner (fits frame with top and bottom pole) is yours to keep after the event.
We can also offer custom floor mats, stretch tablecloths, and polo shirts for our hosts to wear - enquire for more details.

We have a range of gameplay formats to suit a variety of audiences. For busy events, we suggest ‘Party Mode’, where each player shoots cans, clays and pigeons, taking around 4 minutes per player. Need to entertain more than 15 people an hour? Just add a second or third setup, and double or triple the throughput to 30-45 per hour.

Are you in mainland Britain? If so, yes! We’ve covered many events, from the depths of Scotland to the Kent coast, and are happy to travel to wherever your event is located. In Ireland, mainland Europe or further afield? Please enquire, and if we can make it work, we’d love to see your part of the world.

Historically, this was common. However, in addition to technological advancements (i.e. lower latency). we’ve taken several steps to minimise if not irradicate the risk of this occurring. These include providing a tactile floor surface, specifying games with teleport and ‘snap turn’ options, and running short game formats. Please contact us to discuss any remaining concerns. We’ve yet to have a single complaint of motion sickness at any events.
-
Yes absolutely. Unreal Events provides a widescreen TV for each headset in use, so that spectators are engaged in the experience. We can also often utilise screens that are in-situ, in addition or instead of our TVs. The process of sharing the VR images in near real-time can be complex. We have six methods to do so, including carrying a mobile router as contingency for Wi-Fi issues.
